The number of Sudanese refugees in Egypt increases

Assistant External Relations Officer at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Egypt, Christine Bishai, announced yesterday, Sunday, that hundreds of Sudanese fleeing their country as a result of the war are arriving in Egypt daily, adding to more than 1.2 million Sudanese who have taken refuge in the neighboring country, according to official figures.

She said that Egypt currently hosts 546,746 Sudanese refugees officially registered with UNHCR, as well as others awaiting registration.
