The Jenin Battalion documents its control of a “specific” weapon from the Authority’s security forces news
The Jenin Brigade of the Al-Quds Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement – showed scenes of its members controlling an RPG launcher that was in the possession of Palestinian Authority security personnel who are continuing their campaign against fighters in the Jenin camp in the northern occupied West Bank.
The Jenin Brigade said in a statement that this weapon was used by PA security personnel to target “the homes of innocent people in the Jenin camp,” confirming that it was confiscated from one of the security forces located on the outskirts of the camp.
Two days ago, Al Jazeera broadcast a video statement by a leader in the Jenin Brigade in which he accused the Authority’s security of “killing 16 Palestinian citizens in cold blood” since October 7, 2023.
The leader of the Jenin Brigade confirmed that the battalion’s fighters refrained from finishing off a security force that fell within their range of fire, pointing out that the fighters took control of a “specific weapon” that the security force was in possession of after expelling it from a house.
He accused the authorities of turning Jenin Hospital into a military barracks and arresting medical personnel who provided services to the wounded in the camp.
Today, Sunday, clashes renewed between the Authority’s security forces and the resistance fighters of the Jenin Brigade, after the resistance fighters repelled the Authority’s security attempt to advance towards the camp, which the Authority’s forces continue to besiege for the 32nd day in a row.
Palestinian bodies and activities called on all parties to contain the situation, and called on the authority to stop its operation in Jenin.
Since last month, the Palestinian security forces have continued a military operation in the Jenin camp, under the pretext of pursuing what they called “outlaws,” while Palestinian factions, including the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), the Popular Front, and Islamic Jihad, accused the Palestinian security services of pursuing the resistance fighters.
The clashes resulted in 14 deaths, including 6 members of the security forces and 8 citizens, including a leader of the Jenin Brigade.
