Officially…the Gaza Agreement enters into force on Sunday

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister of Qatar, announced yesterday, Wednesday, that Israel and Hamas have reached a ceasefire agreement and the exchange of prisoners held in Gaza and Palestinian detainees, which will take effect next Sunday.
Al Thani said during a press conference: “The State of Qatar, the Arab Republic of Egypt and the United States of America are pleased to announce the success of the joint mediation efforts for the two sides of the conflict in the Gaza Strip to reach an agreement regarding the exchange of prisoners and hostages and the return to sustainable calm and a permanent ceasefire between the two sides.”
He confirmed that Hamas will release 33 prisoners in the first phase, indicating that the Gaza agreement includes the introduction of aid and the rehabilitation of hospitals. He said: The first phase will last 42 days with a ceasefire, and will also witness the withdrawal of Israeli forces eastward, calling on all parties to commit to implementing the Gaza Agreement.
Kingdom
For its part, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s welcome of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, and appreciated the efforts made by the State of Qatar, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the United States of America in this regard.
The Kingdom stressed the necessity of adhering to the agreement and stopping the Israeli aggression against Gaza, the complete withdrawal of the Israeli occupation forces from the Gaza Strip and the rest of the Palestinian and Arab territories, and the return of the displaced to their areas. It also stressed the importance of building on this agreement to address the basis of the conflict by empowering the brotherly Palestinian people with their rights, first and foremost. The establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Kingdom hopes that this agreement will permanently end this brutal Israeli war, which claimed the lives of more than 45,000 martyrs and more than 100,000 wounded.
Biden
For his part, US President Joe Biden said yesterday, Wednesday: The ceasefire agreement in Gaza was drafted during his administration, but the administration of President-elect Donald Trump will implement its conditions.
Biden added during a press conference that Israel and Hamas reached a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that would end the fighting in Gaza and increase humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians.
Biden said at the White House: “I can announce that an agreement has been reached for a ceasefire and the release of prisoners between Israel and Hamas,” noting that the agreement was reached after 15 months of suffering and will be followed by an increase in humanitarian aid to the Strip. He added, “The fighting in Gaza will stop.” The prisoners will soon return to their homes and families.”
In a separate statement, the White House quoted Biden as saying: “Today… after many months of intense diplomacy from the United States, along with Egypt and Qatar, Israel and Hamas reached an agreement to cease fire and free the prisoners… This agreement will stop the fighting in Gaza… and increase… “Humanitarian aid that Palestinian civilians desperately need… and reunite prisoners with their families after more than 15 months in captivity.”
Trump
Yesterday, Wednesday, US President-elect Donald Trump praised reaching an agreement to release prisoners and a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, just five days before his return to power.
Trump wrote on his page on the Truth Social website, before an official announcement was made by the Joe Biden administration: We have an agreement regarding prisoners in the Middle East. They will be released soon. Thank you!
Trump also issued a statement saying: “This epic ceasefire agreement was only made possible by our historic victory in November. This signaled to the entire world that my administration will seek peace and negotiate deals to ensure the safety of all Americans and our allies. I “I am very happy that the American and Israeli prisoners have returned home to reunite with their families and loved ones.”
He added, “With the conclusion of this deal, my national security team, through the efforts of Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff, will continue to work closely with Israel and our allies to ensure that Gaza does not again become a safe haven for terrorists,” he said. He noted that He noted that he will continue to promote peace through strength throughout the region. Trump continued in his statement: “This is only the beginning of great things to come for America… and even for the world!” He said: “We have achieved a lot even without being in the White House. Just imagine all the wonderful things that will happen when I return to the White House… and my administration is fully confirmed… so that they can secure more victories for the United States.”

For its part, the Palestinian Hamas movement issued a statement yesterday, Wednesday, on its Telegram platform regarding the announcement of a ceasefire agreement and an end to the “aggression on the Gaza Strip.” It said: The agreement is the fruit of the legendary steadfastness of our great Palestinian people and our valiant resistance in the Gaza Strip for more than 15 months ago… while Hamas leader Khalil Al-Hayya confirmed that the battle will continue for generations and will not stop… considering that Israel has achieved nothing but destruction, destruction and killing in Gaza.
The Hamas movement statement stated that the agreement to stop the aggression against Gaza is an achievement for our people, our resistance, our nation, and the free people of the world… and it is a turning point in the conflict with the enemy… on the path to achieving our people’s goals of liberation and return.
Occupation
On a related level, Israeli President Isaac Herzog welcomed yesterday evening, Wednesday, the announcement of reaching a truce agreement in Gaza, describing it as “the right choice” to return the prisoners detained in the Strip.
Herzog said in a statement to television: “As President of the State of Israel… I say very clearly… this is the right choice… it is an important choice… a necessary choice… there is no moral, humanitarian, Jewish or Israeli obligation more important than restoring our sons and daughters alike.” So that they may recover in their homes or may they rest in peace.”
He added: “I support Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the negotiating team that sought this agreement… and I call on the members of the government to accept and approve the agreement that will be presented to them in order to return our sons and daughters to the homeland… stressing that this is the right, important and necessary step.”
