Do Israel achieve what it wants through the assassination policy in Lebanon? | policy

Beirut- Israel has made its military operations on Lebanon, and expanded the targeting of the leaders of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), and in the heart of the city of Sidon (the capital of southern Lebanon), days after Beirut’s southern suburb targeted.

In a new assassination, an Israeli path targeted, at dawn today, Friday, the leader of the Izz al -Din al -Qassam Brigades – the armed wing of Hamas – Hassan Farhat, “Abu Yasser”, and his two sons Hamza and Hanin, inside an apartment in the Al -Zuhur neighborhood, the most “overcrowded” in Sidon, and the raid in which two missiles used – according to a security confiscation of Al -Jazeera Net – led to a large fire in the target apartment For neighboring homes and the most recent horror among the population.

This is the second assassination, which Israel has been implemented inside Sidon since the ceasefire agreement between Hezbollah and Israel was entitled to November 2024, as it was assassinated on February 17, 2025, the leader of the Qassam Muhammad Shaheen by a plane driving at the northern entrance to the city.

The assassination is the second of its kind that Israel is implementing in the Lebanese city of Sidon since the ceasefire (French)

Single assassination

The information reveals that the martyr Hassan Farhat, the uncle of the martyr Muhammad Bashra, was the son -in -law of the prominent leader of the Hamas of the martyr Saleh Al -Arouri, who were assassinated by Israel in the southern suburb in early January 2024, and that the martyr Farhat is the brother of the martyr Hayam Farhat Zidan and her uncle, the child, the child Omar Zaidan, who was targeted by an air strike in the town of Al -Wardaniya in Mount Lebanon in October 2023.

The Israeli raid on Sidon came in the context of an accelerated political escalation in the Lebanese square. On the political level, the process coincides with the visit of the deputy of the American envoy to the Middle East Morgan Ortigos to Beirut Friday evening, carrying proposals in her possession, experts say it is linked to Hezbollah’s disarmament, at a time when official Lebanon adheres to Resolution 1701 and confirms its full commitment to it, in exchange for continuous Israeli violations.

As for the security level, Israel has carried out two raids on the southern suburbs of Beirut, the first with allegedly targeting a warehouse of the aircraft after the firing of missiles from southern Lebanon, and the second at dawn last Tuesday, when it targeted a leader in Hezbollah named Hassan Ali Badir, and this led to the death of 3 people and the injury of 7 others with varying wounds.

Thus, it is clear that Israel is proceeding with the policy of systematic assassinations and escalation bypassing the red lines and a risk of pushing Lebanon for an open confrontation, at a time when cautious anticipation prevails internally, and diplomatic endeavors are intensified to stop the continuous Israeli violations.

Reality

Political analyst Ibrahim Haider says that what is happening reflects a new stage that warns of serious possibilities that will leave its repercussions on the ceasefire agreement, whether in Lebanon or Gaza, where the occupation resumed its war, revealing its plan to displace the residents of the sector and destroy the remaining aspects of life in it.

Haider adds to Al -Jazeera Net that the Israeli attacks on March 28 that affected the southern suburbs of Beirut and the regions of the northern Litani line, then the assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Badir on April 1 in the heart of the suburb, followed by the Saida operation, which confirms that Israel exceeded the ceasefire lines, especially as it bombed the suburb for the first time since the agreement entered into force on November 27, which was a qualitative shift, which was a qualitative shift. In the escalation path.

Israel – according to Haider – is seeking to impose a new reality by amending the ceasefire agreement by setting new conditions based on its own interpretations, benefiting from unannounced American guarantees, allowing it freedom to move to strike goals claiming to threaten its security.

The continuous Israeli strikes and the accompanying violations reflect the existence of a plan that has coverage from the American administration, aimed at increasing pressure on Lebanon and removing Hezbollah by stabilizing the occupation of the five points in the south, and keeping the border area that is not viable, and preventing any reconstruction before imposing its conditions that include reaching a comprehensive agreement that allows Israel to continue its control and release its hand in Lebanon and the region.

Haider continues that this Israeli “defamation” not only targets Hezbollah and Hamas, but a candidate for more escalation, and has clear regional extensions, especially in Syria, as Israel is working to occupy strategic locations in southern Syria near the gates of Damascus, and linking them to Jabal Al -Sheikh to the Lebanese borders.

He believes that the statements of the deputy of the American envoy to the Middle East, in which it considered that the Lebanese government is “responsible for the disarmament of Hezbollah” reflects the path that America seeks today, and is to push towards direct negotiations between Lebanon and Israel, preceded by a comprehensive removal of the party’s weapon, which Washington considers a threat to the stability of Lebanon and the region.

Assassination messages

For his part, Palestinian researcher and politician Mohamed Abu Laila believes that “these assassinations reflect a strategic impasse experienced by the Zionist entity, which has become afraid of even the shadows of resistance fighters outside the borders of Palestine, and represents a serious transgression of all red lines, and reflects the readiness of the occupation – with clear Western support – to violate the sovereignty of countries in order to implement its security agendas.”

Abu Laila assures Al -Jazeera Net that “instead of weakening these resistance policies, they are increased by legitimacy, strength, presence, stability and cohesion.”

The occupation, according to Abu Laila, sends messages in more than one direction through these assassinations, the first of which is, to the resistance: that he is able to reach any person, at any time and place, and he tries to impose a new security equation by dealing with the resistance movements in the region.

Another message to the northern front in Lebanon: that he is ready to expand the circle of confrontation and go to the utmost escalation, especially after he targeted a Hezbollah leaders in the heart of the southern suburb a few days ago, and continued with the assassination policy against everyone who is linked to the resistance option.

Abu Laila stresses that the Palestinian resistance is not weakened by the martyrdom of its leaders, but rather increases hardness and cohesion, and believes that “the enemy thinks that the assassination of individuals may stop the resisting project, but the experience proves the opposite; every martyr leaves new energy, and the blood of leaders does not go in vain, but rather tells the path of liberation and deepens insistence on returning to Palestine.”
