American basketball star Durant buys a stake in Paris Saint -Germain sports


Paris Saint -Germain Football Club – Friday – announced the purchase of American basketball star Kevin Durant for a small share of the club.

Qatar Sports Investment Company, the largest shareholder in Paris Saint -Germain, has signed an investment and strategic partnership agreement with Durant, according to a statement issued by the club. The financial conditions of the deal were not revealed.

“In accordance with the conditions of the partnership, Durant will acquire- through his media and investment company” Bordrom “, which he founded in conjunction with his old commercial partner Rich Cleman- on a direct minority stake in the club.”

The 36 -year -old is the American Basketball League champion twice and one of the best shot makers in the league.

Durant became the first player to win the gold medal four times in men’s basketball in the history of the Olympic Games when the United States won the gold medal in the Paris Olympics last summer.

“I am honored to cooperate with Qatar Sports Investments and to be a shareholder in Paris Saint -Germain, the club and the city dear to my heart,” Durant said in statements issued by Paris Saint -Germain.

He added: “This club has ambitious plans, and I look forward to participating in the next stage of growth and exploring new investment opportunities with Qatar Sports Investment Company.”

As part of the deal, Boardroom SPORTS HOLDINGS, which is the personal investment tool affiliated with Durant, which has stakes in a number of major sports teams and patrols – and Qatar Sports Investment Company in a wide range of commercial and investment initiatives and content production initiatives.

Paris Saint -Germain added that Durant will support the club’s strategy for diversification and growth, in addition to developing it in the United States and other global markets. He will also provide his experience in the club’s multi -activities strategy, including future basketball plans.
