The Iranian parliament approves a bill to suspend cooperation with the Atomic Energy Agency

Agencies – Tehran:
The Iranian parliament approved a bill to suspend cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency. The move comes in the wake of an air war with Israel, which it said wanted to prevent Iran, which was hostile for years, from developing a nuclear weapon. It is obligatory to approve the unleashed constitution council in Iran to the draft law to become a law.
It states that any inspection carried out by the International Atomic Energy Agency in the future will require the approval of the Iranian National Security Council.
Official media quoted Parliament Speaker Muhammad Baqir Qalibaf as saying that Iran would accelerate its civil nuclear program.
Tehran denies its endeavor to possess nuclear weapons and says that the decision, which was adopted by the International Atomic Energy Agency this month and says that Iran violated its obligations to prevent nuclear spread, paved the way for Israeli attacks.
The media quoted Parliament as saying that the agency “which has not even formally condemned the attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities, has sold its international credibility at a cheap price.”
He added, “Therefore, the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization will suspend cooperation with the agency until the security of our nuclear facilities will be guaranteed, and the Iranian peaceful nuclear program will advance at a faster pace.”
The National Security Committee in Parliament approved earlier this week on the outlines of the draft law, and the committee spokesman, Ibrahim Ridai, said that the draft law will stipulate the suspension of the installation of surveillance cameras, inspections and reports to the agency.
The agency has not yet issued a comment on the approval of the Iranian parliament on the bill. Acting Director -General Rafael Grossi said that he is seeking to return the inspectors to Iranian sites, including stations that enrich uranium until Israel launched its attacks on June 13.
It is not yet clear the full size of the damage to nuclear sites during the Israeli attacks and the American bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities underground.
For his part, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said that the nuclear facilities were “severely damaged” due to the American strikes.
