UNRWA to Al -Jazeera: The Israeli -American mechanism for the distribution of deadly and unprecedented aids news

The Israeli -American mechanism for providing aid has opened a new death door for the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, who are exposed to an unprecedented type of killing, according to the media advisor to UNRWA, Adnan Abu Hasna.

UNRWA – which with the help of American assistance in Gaza and the occupied territories – confirmed that at least 400 Palestinians have been killed since the start of the implementation of the mechanism of distributing Israeli -American aid a month ago, and called for stopping this situation, which it described as the disorganization and a return to distribute aid through the United Nations and specialized institutions.

According to Abu Hasna – in an interview with Al -Jazeera – the residents of Gaza are subjected to a new type of killing, which is to drag them into death in the areas of aid distribution that adopts a “fatal, vulnerable and unprecedented system.”

This mechanism is imposed on the residents of the sector to cut dozens of kilometers on foot in order to obtain a food basket in a precedent, yet they kill while they are going, waiting or while they are returning from these points, according to Abu Hasna.

The new mechanism was replaced by 400 points and thousands of employees who were providing aid to the population, 4 points supervised by retired soldiers who have no information or experience in humanitarian work, says UNRWA’s media advisor.

UNRWA and other humanitarian institutions worked for 20 months in the sector without harming any person, according to Abu Hasna, who said that UNRWA has all the information that makes it able to manage the distribution of aid instead of this mechanism, which he described as anarchism.

Before applying this mechanism, Israel and the United States failed to deliver aid across the sea and failed to persuade the tribal sheikhs to work with them, says Abu Hasna, who stressed the impossibility of continuing to work in this way, especially in the event of a ceasefire agreement in the sector, because no one will accept the killing of tens or hundreds of civilians trying to obtain food under a truce.

On Friday, the Secretary -General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, called on Israel to accept the mechanism set by the International Organization for Aid, according to Abu Hasna, who confirmed the organization’s readiness to provide all information about the introduction, storage and distribution of this aid.

Earlier today, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said that famine and malnutrition is disintegrated with the children of Gaza, and that the world should move immediately to stop the crime of continuous starvation, stressing that more than 66 children in Gaza lost their lives due to malnutrition and famine as a result of the siege and the policy of systematic starvation.

Children die hunger

The American “NBC” network also confirmed that its team has monitored many of the deaths faced by the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, and said that there are children who are starving because of the Israeli restrictions on the entry of aid.

While the United Nations and other organizations have long warned Gaza that Gaza is at risk of starvation, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) says that the hunger crisis has exacerbated in recent months.

UNICEF estimates that 16,000 children are between 6 months and 5 years old, at least, entered hospitals and clinics due to the lack of milk and acute malnutrition so far this year.

The 11 weeks ago, the Israeli siege on food, aid and medical supplies increased by 150% in the number of children who were entered due to malnutrition, according to UNICEF, who said that this siege was partially lifted on May 19, but malnutrition cases are still ongoing.

“Each of these cases can be prevented from occurring,” said UNICEF Regional Director in the Middle East and North Africa, stressing that “food, water and food remedies are prevented from the need for those in need.”

Under the current circumstances, UNICEF expects severe malnutrition in the coming weeks, which may reach its highest level since the beginning of the war.
