Any decision to recognize a Palestinian state does not mean its establishment immediately

London – Agencies:
British Deputy Prime Minister David Lami said that any decision to recognize a Palestinian state does not mean that this country immediately established, stressing that recognition should be part of a broader peace process.
“Any step to recognize it stems from our desire to maintain the chances of a two -state solution,” Lami told Sky News, adding that Prime Minister Kiir Starmer will make a decision later on Sunday regarding the recognition of a Palestinian state.
Starmer said in July that Britain will recognize a Palestinian state if Israel does not reach a ceasefire with the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and allows more assistance to enter Gaza and explicitly declares that it will not include the West Bank and adhere to a peace process that leads to a “two -state solution” and includes the establishment of a Palestinian state that lives alongside Israel.
“Since the announcement of July, and in fact, since the attack on Qatar, a ceasefire at this stage has become difficult to enforce, and the horizons have become dark,” Lami said.
