The negotiation process with Israel fell through

Agencies – Capitals:
Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri said that the proposed negotiation path between Lebanon and Israel had fallen due to Tel Aviv’s refusal to respond to an American proposal in this regard, according to Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper.
Berri pointed out that the only path currently is the “mechanism” path, which includes representatives of the countries concerned and sponsors of the cessation of hostilities agreement, which stopped the recent Lebanon war last November.
He stated that American envoy Tom Barrack officially informed Lebanon that Israel rejected an American proposal to launch a negotiating path, starting with a cessation of Israeli operations for two months, and ending with an Israeli withdrawal from the occupied Lebanese territories, and launching a path to demarcate borders and security arrangements.
Berri announced that the Israeli refusal led to a retreat from any negotiation path, as there was no longer an existing diplomatic path other than working within the mechanism followed through the committee supervising the implementation of the ceasefire agreement. He pointed out that an important development had occurred in its working mechanism, after it began meeting every two weeks, in contrast to the path it followed previously when it held intermittent and distant meetings.
It is noteworthy that yesterday, Monday, Israeli aircraft launched 3 raids on the town of Al-Aishiya – the Mahmoudiya locality, and Al-Jarmak – the Jezzine district, southern Lebanon, while Israeli drones flew intensely at a very low altitude in the Beirut sky, reaching the southern suburb.
