The fans of the Moroccan club Wydad Casablanca showed solidarity with Palestine, praising the steadfastness of its people, during the presentation match of the club’s new international star, Hakim Ziyech, the former Chelsea and Galatasaray player.
The Wydad club fans chanted a song in support of Palestine, entitled “Land of Resilience,” after Ziyech climbed into the stands.

Among the lyrics of the song are: My home and my path of victory, Palestine, my revenge and the land of steadfastness, my sacrifice, Palestine, Palestine, the land of the Muslims, Oh, Saladin, Oh, and on your path I will walk (walking), Oh, Saladin, we die tenderly (we) and long live Palestine.
They also chanted slogans in support of Palestinian steadfastness, and carried Palestinian flags, declaring their solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
The match, in Casablanca on Sunday, ended with Wydad’s victory over Ittihad Tangier Club with two goals to none.
Last October, Moroccan Wydad Sports Club announced its contract with international Hakim Ziyech, in a free transfer deal, after his contract with Al-Duhail of Qatar ended at the end of last May.

The Moroccan player, who reached the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup with the Atlas Lions, began his professional career in 2012, at the Dutch club Heerenveen, then joined two other Dutch clubs, Twente and Ajax Amsterdam, and also played for the English club Chelsea.
After leaving the Blues in 2023, Ziyash (32 years old) played for the Turkish club Galatasaray before moving to the Qatari league through the gate of Al-Duhail Club.
The ceasefire agreement, in accordance with the plan of US President Donald Trump, ended an Israeli genocidal war on Gaza that had lasted for two years since October 8, 2023, with the support of Washington, leaving 68,865 Palestinians dead and more than 170,000 wounded.
