Iran must seriously improve cooperation

Agencies – Geneva:
International Atomic Energy Agency Director-General Rafael Grossi said Iran must “seriously improve” its cooperation with UN inspectors to avoid increasing tensions with the West.
Grossi said that the International Atomic Energy Agency had conducted more than 10 inspections in Iran since its war with Israel in June, but that it was not allowed to access nuclear facilities such as Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan, which were bombed by the United States. Grossi said in October that movement had been detected near Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile, but that “does not mean there is enrichment activity.”
After these statements, Esmail Baghaei, spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that Grossi is “fully aware of the peaceful nature” of the Iranian nuclear program and should not express “unfounded opinions” about it.
