Today, Monday, the State of Qatar announced the launch of “Qai”, a company specializing in artificial intelligence technology and aiming to build advanced digital systems that support innovation and contribute to achieving sustainable development.

The Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, expressed his happiness at the launch of the company, and wrote on his account on the “X” platform, “It reflects the country’s ambition to localize and employ advanced technology, and to develop digital solutions that support the process of modernization and development, leading to strengthening the country’s position as an important center for technology and innovation.”

The Qatari Prime Minister added, “We are counting on this step to support the comprehensive development of our country.”

The launch of the new company comes within the national direction to strengthen the knowledge-based economy and develop a digital infrastructure that keeps pace with the rapid global transformations, in a way that supports the process of economic diversification in the country, in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030, according to the Qatar News Agency (QNA).

Qai is affiliated with the Qatar Investment Authority, and benefits from the spread of the Authority’s investments in multiple sectors around the world, in addition to its long-term investment approach, in addition to its close cooperation with the scientific and research community, policy makers, and the innovation system in the State of Qatar.
