The Arab Parliament welcomes the vote of 164 countries at the United Nations for a resolution affirming the right of the Palestinians to self-determination

Cairo – SPA:
The Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, welcomed the overwhelming vote in the United Nations General Assembly in favor of the resolution that affirmed the inherent and inalienable right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, with the approval of 164 countries.
In a statement, Al-Yamahi considered this vote a victory for the Palestinian right, and an embodiment of a clear international will that does not accept questioning or compromise, drawing attention to the fact that the vote reflects the political and moral isolation of the Israeli occupation.
He pointed out that this UN resolution constitutes a clear and categorical rejection of all forms of illegal Israeli settlement in the West Bank, as it is a flagrant violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions, most notably the Fourth Geneva Convention and the relevant Security Council resolutions.
The Speaker of the Arab Parliament condemned in the strongest terms the ongoing violations of the Israeli occupation in the West Bank and its attempt to change the legal and historical situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, the latest of which is the occupation government’s approval of the establishment and legalization of 19 new colonies in the West Bank.
