Former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir was taken to hospital

Former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, 100, was taken to hospital after collapsing at his residence, his aide said. Mahathir Mohamad has been suffering from health problems for years, and was previously hospitalized due to exhaustion after an outdoor celebration for his 100th birthday in July.

Mahathir was taken to the National Institute of Cardiology “to undergo observation” after collapsing at home, his aide said.

Sufi Yusuf added, “He is conscious,” explaining that he “fell while moving from the balcony to the living room,” refusing to go into details about the condition of the former Malaysian prime minister.
