More than 700 flights were canceled at Amsterdam Airport in the Netherlands due to snowfall

The Hague – SPA:
Amsterdam-Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands – one of the largest airports in Europe – announced the cancellation of at least 700 flights yesterday due to snow and wind, following the cancellation of many flights in recent days. The airport administration said in a statement: “Air traffic remains disturbed at the airport, and more than a thousand people spent the night in Schiphol.” She added, “Our snow removal teams are working to ensure that the largest possible number of flights are operated safely. However, the continuing winter conditions and strong winds limit air traffic. So far, more than 700 flights have been cancelled, and we expect this number to rise.” Train traffic is experiencing severe disruption in the Netherlands, and the Dutch National Railway Company advises people who do not have to travel to postpone their trips.
