Agencies – Capitals:
Yesterday, Saturday, the Revolutionary Guard announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, and the naval force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard sent a warning to all ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, and asked them to leave immediately.
It also continued in the warning: “The Strait of Hormuz is announced to be closed as of this moment… it has ended.”
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said: The Strait of Hormuz, a vital waterway for oil and gas shipments, is unsafe due to American and Israeli attacks, and therefore it was closed to ships yesterday, Saturday, according to what Iranian media reported.
Tasnim News Agency reported, “The Iranian Revolutionary Guard has warned several ships that, given the unsafe atmosphere surrounding the Strait due to the American-Israeli military aggression and Iran’s responses, it is not safe to cross the Strait at the present time.”
The agency also added, “With the cessation of ships and oil tankers crossing the Strait of Hormuz, the strait has been de facto closed.”
The US Department of Transportation recommended that commercial ships avoid passing through the Gulf after the US and Israeli bombing of Iran.
