A drone attack on an Iranian Kurdish opposition site in Erbil

Erbil – Agencies:
Three fighters from an Iranian Kurdish opposition party stationed in the Kurdistan region in northern Iraq were injured as a result of a drone attack, according to what the party announced, holding Iran responsible.
The party’s spokesman, Khalil Kani Sanani, told Agence France-Presse that the injuries were minor, pointing out that the targeted site was located in Erbil Governorate.
The attack came after US President Donald Trump announced that he would maintain, until further notice, the truce with Iran that has been in effect since April 8, after a war that lasted about 40 days and whose repercussions affected the lands of Iraq and the autonomous Kurdistan region.
During the war, sites belonging to the Iranian Kurdish opposition, stationed for years in camps and bases in northern Iraq, were subjected to Iranian attacks with drones and missiles, resulting in the killing of at least five fighters.
On Wednesday, the Kurdistan Freedom Party called for “ensuring the protection of the Kurdistan region and all Peshmerga forces during the ceasefire period,” and considered that this “falls upon President Donald Trump.”
