Barcelona renews confidence in Flick with a new contract after winning the Spanish League twice in a row sports

Barcelona announced today, Monday, the extension of the contract of its coach, Hansi Flick, until June 2028, with the option of renewing for an additional season, after he led the team to achieve the Spanish First Division title for the 29th time in its history.
The 61-year-old coach’s previous contract expired in June 2027.

Barcelona won the title three rounds before the end of the competition, after defeating its traditional rival, Real Madrid, on May 10.
Flick, who previously won the treble with Bayern Munich, joined Barcelona in 2024 on a two-year contract, where he took charge determined to restore his coaching reputation after his dismissal from coaching the German national team in September 2023.
Under his leadership, Barcelona quickly regained its local dominance, winning the Spanish League title twice in a row, in addition to the Spanish King’s Cup for the 2024-2025 season and two consecutive titles in the Spanish Super Cup, but the only tournament it lacks in its coffers with the Catalan club is the European Champions League.
After being eliminated from the Champions League quarter-finals by Atletico Madrid, the team will look forward to a stronger run in the most prominent European club tournaments next season.
