Hakimi, the fourth Moroccan crowned the Best African Player Award sports
The Moroccan right back, Ashraf Hakimi, won the Mark Vivian Award for Best African Player in the French League, continuing the heroic dominance of Paris Saint-Germain for the National Football Association Awards for the 2024-2025 season, according to what was announced on Monday-Radio France International and “France 24”.
Hakimi surpassed Al -Aji Ivan Gisan (Nice striker) and Senegalese Habib Diarra (Strasbourg midfielder) after a committee of 100 personalities chosen by Radio France and “France 24” and includes journalists, consultants and former players.
Hakimi became the fourth Moroccan player to win this prestigious award after:
- Marwan Al -Shammakh (2009)
- Yunus Blinda (2012)
- Sufyan Boufal (2016).

Hakimi-who came on the last year-was the Gabonese striker Pierre Emeric Aubameyang, who played in the ranks of Marseille 2023-2024 season.
The award was created for the first time in the 2008-2009 season and won by the Moroccan Bordeaux striker Marwan Al-Shammakh. It bears the name of the former midfielder, Cameroon Mark Vivian Foya, who died after a heart attack during a confrontation between his country and Colombia in the semi -finals of the Confederations Cup on June 26, 2003 in Lyon.
