The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said that the Sudanese army commander, Lieutenant General Abdel -Fattah Al -Burhan, discussed today, Friday, with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the situation in Sudan.

Al -Burhan’s visit to the Kingdom, which was mediated in talks aimed at stopping the fighting in Sudan, comes after the army expelled the rapid support forces from most of the city of Khartoum as part of a two -year battle to control the capital.

Al -Burhan, the Saudi Crown Prince, briefed on the developments of the situation in Sudan, especially after the recent victories achieved by the army.

Two days ago, the Sudanese army launched a comprehensive attack on rapid support east and south of Khartoum, during which it took control of strategic locations, including Khartoum International Airport, Al -Nujoumi Air Force, and major headquarters of the Rapid Support Forces and the Central Reserve Police headquarters, to announce the proof that Khartoum is “free”.

In the recent period, the frequency of the rapid support forces has accelerated in several states, including Khartoum, Al -Jazeera, Al -Abyad, North Kordofan, Sennar and Blue Nile.

Out of 18 states that only the Rapid Support Forces control pockets west and south of Omdurman, west of Khartoum, and parts of the states of North Kordofan and West Kordofan. It also controls 4 states in the Darfur region, while the army controls the capital of North Darfur, the fifth state in the region.

Since April 2023, the army and “rapid support” have been a war that has killed more than 20,000 people, displacement and asylum of about 15 million, according to the United Nations and local authorities.
