New CEO appointed to lead Saudi retailer Alhokair

RIYADH: Leading Saudi retailer Fawaz Abdulaziz Alhokair Co. has approved the appointment of Mohamad Mourad as its interim CEO.

The appointment to the operator of clothes, cosmetics, food and beverage, shoes and accessories stores across the Kingdom came as Marwan Moukarzel’s tenure is scheduled to end in April, according to a statement issued by the company.

“I am excited at the opportunity to work with the company’s leadership team to maintain the positive momentum, and capitalize on the fantastic platform that has been created over the past few years,” the incoming interim CEO commented.

Mourad is currently the chairman of Fawaz Abdulaziz Alhokair Co.’s executive committee. He has 28 years experience in technology, retail, consumer goods, and e-commerce.

Mourad will take over as CEO on May 1, 2022.
