UAE launches new polymer banknotes in a sustainability push 

RIYADH: The UAE’s central bank has issued two new polymer banknotes in five and 10 dirham denominations, Emirates News Agency reported. 

As the third issuance of the national currency, it said the new banknotes reflect the bank’s adoption and promotion of sustainable practices by using environmentally-friendly and recyclable polymer material.  

Older banknotes will continue to be in circulation along with the new ones.
