Military expert: The destruction of Gaza requires more than a year amid complex strategic challenges policy

The military and strategic expert, Colonel Hatem Karim Al -Falahi, believes that the Palestinian resistance factions have succeeded in preserving their combat capabilities despite the continuous Israeli military operations.

He pointed out during the military analysis paragraph that the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) managed to restore the targeted tunnels and continue its effectiveness in military operations.

Al -Falahi explained that the field evidence confirms the continued work of the tunnels network in various regions of the Gaza Strip, including the recent operations in Beit Hanoun and Khan Yunis, and this demonstrates the ability of the resistance to maintain its infrastructure.

Al -Falahi is based in his analysis of the situation in Gaza on the nature of the battle that requires a double strategy that combines fighting over the ground and the use of tunnels for underground operations, as this resistance strategy enables reaching areas that cannot be reached by traditional methods.

The Israeli forces are facing a complex challenge to fighting inside the built areas that begin to surround and then obtain a foothold, followed by the gradual biting of areas to control them, which requires a long time and large forces.

For its part, the Haaretz newspaper quoted sources in the Israeli army as confirming that the destruction of Gaza City, similar to what happened in Beit Hanoun, needs at least a year.

The plan presented by the Israeli Chief of Staff, Eyal Zamir, includes the government’s possibility of stopping the fighting as soon as an agreement with Hamas is reached, while the military leadership supports the resumption of negotiations to restore the prisoners before proceeding to any attack on the city.

Israeli military sources warned against endangering the lives of the prisoners with the start of any new military operation, in light of the differences with the political leadership over this file.

Deceptive plan

The military expert put forward a strategic hypothesis related to the possibility of statements about attacking Gaza City as part of a deceptive plan, as the real goal may be the middle sector based on intelligence information indicating the presence of prisoners there and not in Gaza City.

This strategy aims to mislead the resistance about the real goal of the upcoming operations.

The field reality indicates that the 162nd Armored Brigade 401 will return to its bases in the northern Gaza Strip, which reflects the state of exhaustion suffered by the Israeli forces after months of continuous fighting.

Any new military operation against Gaza – according to Al -Falahi – needs additional military sectors to support, given that the blockade and cordoning operations are different from the raids and entry into neighborhoods that require much larger forces.

Military operations in crowded urban areas require a comprehensive strategy that combines surface and underground fighting, and this requires a long time and huge military resources, which explains Israeli estimates that the implementation of a comprehensive destruction plan for Gaza City needs more than a year.

Since October 2023, Israel, with American support, has launched a war of extermination over the residents of the Gaza Strip, including killing, starvation, destruction and forced displacement, ignoring international calls to stop the war and the orders of the International Court of Justice in this regard.

The extermination left more than 62 thousand martyrs and 157 thousand injured, and the starvation was killed 271 Palestinians, including 112 children, according to the latest statistics of the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip.
