Bill Gates meets Chinese President in Beijing

Chinese President Xi Jinping received, today, Friday, in Beijing, Bill Gates One of the founders of Microsoft, on his first visit to China since 2019, according to state media.

The Chinese state radio and television (CCTV) reported that “President Xi Jinping met on June 16 in Beijing with Bill Gates, president of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation of America.” The meeting is rare for an American businessman.

According to Chinese state media, Xi told Gates that China had “always placed its hopes in the American people.”
