Tomorrow is the beginning of the month of Dhul-Hijjah.. and standing in Arafah on June 27th
Today, Sunday, the Saudi Supreme Court announced that tomorrow, Monday, is the first day of the month of Dhul-Hijjah, according to the Umm Al-Qura calendar, corresponding to June 19, 2023 AD.
It also indicated that the day of standing in Arafah will be on Tuesday, June 27, and Eid al-Adha will be on Wednesday, June 28.
The correspondent of “Al-Arabiya / Al-Hadath” reported seeing the crescent of the month of Dhul-Hijjah at the Tamir Observatory today.
Today’s Supreme Court statement reads as follows:
The Crescent Chamber of the Supreme Court held a session this evening, Sunday, the twenty-ninth of the month of Dhul-Qi`dah for the year 1444 AH – according to the Umm Al-Qura calendar – corresponding to 6/18/2023 AD. To consider what is reported about the sightings of the crescent of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah for this year 1444 AH, and after reviewing, examining and contemplating all that was mentioned in it, and in view of what was included in Supreme Court Decision No. (170 / AH) dated 11/1/1444 AH that Sunday 11/1/1444 AH – According to the Umm Al-Qura calendar – corresponding to 5/21/2023 AD, it is the beginning of the month of Dhul-Qi`dah for this year 1444 AH, and because a number of witnesses witnessed the sighting of the crescent of the month of Dhul-Hijjah this night; The department decides that tomorrow Monday 1/12/1444 AH – according to the Umm Al-Qura calendar – corresponding to the nineteenth of June 2023 AD is the beginning of the month of Dhul-Hijjah, and standing in Arafah on Tuesday 9/12/1444 AH – according to the Umm Al-Qura calendar – corresponding to the 27th. From the month of June, and Eid Al-Adha on the following Wednesday.
