There is no room for wasting effort in conflicts and settling scores

The Crown Prince of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, announced on Tuesday, at the opening of the seventeenth legislative term of the National Assembly, that “there is no room for wasting time, effort and capabilities in conflicts and settling scores.”

The Crown Prince of Kuwait said: “We went through a period of absence of cooperation between the legislative and executive authorities, and we will not allow the mixing of powers, and we trust the keenness of the National Assembly to achieve the aspirations of the people.”

He added, “We have before us a new phase of work, reform, and advancing the national achievement process.”

He called on the Crown Prince of Kuwait to give the government led by Sheikh Ahmed Nawaf Al-Sabah sufficient time to achieve achievements.

Addressing the deputies, he said in a speech he delivered on behalf of the Emir of the country: “You have to improve democratic practice… give the government enough time to achieve achievement, then use constitutional means wisely, if they have a place.”

Then the Kuwaiti Prime Minister delivered a speech on behalf of the Emir of Kuwait, in which he said, “The feasibility of the democratic approach can only be achieved with the unity of the people of Kuwait on a common word, an inclusive vision, and sincere eagerness for joint action.”

The Council of Ministers had submitted to the Crown Prince, on June 7, the decree calling for the opening of the first ordinary session of the 17th legislative term.

This was preceded by the elections for members of the National Assembly, which took place on the sixth of this month.

According to the Kuwaiti constitution, the term of the National Assembly is 4 years from the date of the first meeting.
