The parents of the students rushed to a school in the small village of Tewkesbury in Gloucester, western England, after news circulated that a stabbing had occurred inside it.
It later became clear that a student had stabbed a teacher in a school, according to what the British police announced.
Local police said, “A teacher was taken to hospital and suspected of being shot with a knife after an accident at the school.” “A teenager has been arrested in connection with what happened,” she added.
The UK has seen a rise in the number of knife attacks in recent years.
In England and Wales, about 45,000 crimes involving the use of a knife or sharp object were committed during the year ending at the end of March 2022, according to government figures.
These numbers represent an increase of 9% compared to the previous year and 34% compared to the period between 2010 and 2011.
