Paris guard escaped death with “half poison”
A medical report revealed that Sergio Rico, the Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper, would have died instantly if the injury he suffered was half a centimeter deeper.
In the past weeks, Rico suffered serious head injuries and was in a coma after being hit by a horse while participating in a trip in the “El Rossio” region, Spain. He recently left intensive care, while he continues to recover from a head injury.
According to the report published by the Spanish newspaper “Marca”, the medical report revealed that Rico was half a centimeter away from death, meaning that if the injury was half a centimeter deeper, he would have died instantly.
It was reported that the Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper lost 23 kg, and that he is currently recovering, and doctors are considering removing him from the hospital, on Friday.
The Spanish goalkeeper said he feels very fortunate as he continues to recover after being released from intensive care.
And Rico published a post on “Instagram” on Sunday, in which he stated: “I wanted to thank everyone who showed and sent me their love during these difficult days.” I continue to work on my recovery, and I’m getting better every day. I feel very lucky. Once again, thank you and hope to see you soon.
Rico played for Seville, and played on loan for Fulham in the 2018-2019 season, and again in Saint-Germain in the 2019-2020 season before finally joining Saint-Germain in 2020.
