We allowed Ukrainians to be trained on F-16s in Europe
The US National Security Adviser, Jake Sullivan, confirmed today, Sunday, that the ammunition production capabilities in the United States are difficult and require years to develop, explaining that the administration directed the Ministry of Defense to work to accelerate this.
Training by Europeans
He added that Washington allowed the training of Ukrainians on F-16 aircraft in Europe, indicating that there is a change in the battlefield in Ukraine.
He also added that the recent Chinese breach of US government mail did not succeed in obtaining classified documents.
Constant calls from Zelensky
Zelensky has consistently called for providing his country with Western combat aircraft to strengthen its defenses in the face of the ongoing Russian attack since February 24, 2022.
On the other hand, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov warned in an interview with the electronic newspaper “Lintaro” that the F-16 fighters that will be delivered to Ukraine will be considered by Moscow as a “nuclear” threat.
“nuclear threat”
“We will consider the mere possession of similar systems by Ukrainian forces as a threat from the West in the nuclear field,” Lavrov told the newspaper. “Russia cannot ignore the ability of these devices to carry nuclear charges,” he added, noting that Moscow had warned the United States, the United Kingdom and France.
These modern warplanes were at the top of Kiev’s military demands from its Western allies.
Lavrov spoke about US plans to transfer F-16 fighters to Ukraine, although Washington did not give the green light to any country to hand them over.
training plan
The Netherlands and Denmark are leading a plan to train Ukrainian pilots to use US-made aircraft as part of an alliance of 11 countries.
The program will start in Denmark in August, after being authorized by the United States.
