He added that the law of the International Committee of the Red Cross prohibits talking about the type of those who have been released, adding that the most important thing in such operations is to contribute to the reunification of families and the return of detainees to their families.

In turn, a field commander in the Rapid Support Forces explained on Wednesday that their forces released yesterday more than twenty civilians who were being held in East Nile and Bahri, in addition to the city of Omdurman, adding that those released were arrested during the last period on many charges, including cooperation with military intelligence and exposing the movements of the Rapid Support Forces of the Sudanese army, he said.

accusations of widespread abuse

It is noteworthy that the Rapid Support Forces exchange has become accused of committing widespread violations that included large numbers of civilians in Khartoum state and the Darfur region, including arrest and enforced disappearance.

This comes as the war between the army and the Rapid Support Forces entered its fourth month without any looming solution, despite the pressure exerted by international and regional parties.

The declared truce also failed to stop the war operations that have been going on for months.
