Elon Musk raises confusion again.. We will soon say goodbye to “all the birds”
The American billionaire, Elon Musk, said that he is looking forward to changing the logo of the Twitter social networking platform.
“We will soon bid farewell to the Twitter brand, and gradually to all birds,” he wrote on his platform.
Musk added in a tweet posted at 12:06 am EST (0406 GMT) today, Sunday, “If a good enough logo is published tonight, we will launch it around the world tomorrow.”
Musk posted a picture with a flashing “X” in the English language, without giving further details. The company has not yet responded to a request for comment.
Under Musk’s vocal leadership of the platform since its purchase in October, the company has changed its business name to XCorp, reflecting the billionaire’s vision of developing a “super app” on the model of China’s WeChat.
Twitter’s website describes the current logo, a blue bird, as “our most recognizable asset”, adding “that’s why we protect it so fiercely”.
The bird’s logo was temporarily changed in April to the image of the Shiba Inu dog on the Dogecoin cryptocurrency, which helped boost the currency’s market value by $4 billion.
And on Tuesday, it filed a lawsuit against Twitter alleging that the company owes at least $500 million in severance pay to former employees, marking the latest in a series of problems facing Twitter.
Since Musk’s acquisition, the company has laid off more than half of its workforce to cut costs.
