Losses 300 million.. A judicial development may decide the fate of Travis Scott’s party
Today, Monday, the Administrative Court in Egypt considered the lawsuit filed by a lawyer to cancel the concert of international rapper Travis Scott, which is scheduled to be held on July 28 in Egypt.
The court requested extracting a statement from the Permanent Supreme Committee for Organizing Festivals and Carnivals to ascertain whether the company organizing the party had applied for a residence permit or not, given that the committee is the only one authorized to approve the issuance of permits for holding festivals and carnivals in accordance with Prime Ministerial Resolution No. 1238 of 2018.

In a related context, and in statements to “Al-Masry Al-Youm” newspaper, Mohamed Serag, the managing director of the company responsible for selling tickets to Travis Scott’s concert, said that he could not decide on holding the concert only 5 days before its holding, stressing that the equipment and the foreign team accompanying Scott (which is already in Egypt) were not allowed to enter the pyramids area, in which the preparations were supposed to start on the 20th of this month.
Siraj added that at the same time, no party informed him of the cancellation of the ceremony, explaining that the size of the initial losses for canceling the ceremony amounted to approximately 300 million pounds directly, at a time when about 4,000 confirmed tickets were reserved for foreigners who will arrive in Egypt to attend the ceremony, and each of them will stay for at least a week, which means 28 thousand nights in Egyptian hotels.

He added that if the ceremony is not held, he will prosecute those responsible for the electronic brigades that spread the rumors and caused the expected losses, hoping at the same time that the efforts of the Ministry of Tourism in all its aspects will bear fruit and allow Travis Scott’s team to enter the pyramids.
