Jeffrey Epstein list: Harvey Weinstein and RFK Jr named as new documents loom

Which big names are on Epstein’s list?
Convicted rapist Harvey Weinstein, budding politican RFK Jr and Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, were all mentioned in the latest tranche of newly-unsealed court documents relating to late paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Nearly 100 more court files containing information about Epstein were released on Friday after US judge Loretta Preska ordered the unsealing of filings in a lawsuit brought by Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre against Ghislaine Maxwell.
Maxwell – currently in federal prison for sex trafficking – was sued in 2015 after she branded Ms Giuffre a liar over her claims that she was sexually abused as a minor. The suit was settled in 2017 but the documents remained sealed – until now.
The first batch of forty court documents was released on Wednesday, naming Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, and magician David Copperfield. Celebrities including Cameron Diaz and Bruce Willis were also named. The naming of individuals does not necessarily indicate any wrongdoing.
Further documents are expected to be released over the coming days and weeks, providing further insight into Epstein’s years-long campaign of abuse and the powerful circles he mingled in.
There was no escaping the Epstein list at the Golden Globes
Comedian Jim Gaffigan addressed the controversy surrounding the unsealed Jeffrey Epstein records at the 2024 Golden Globes with some daring jokes.
Last week, six Hollywood stars were spuriously named in the the newly-released legal documents linked to Epstein, prompting actors including Cate Blanchett, Leonardo DiCaprio and Cameron Diaz to deny any personal involvement with the paedophile.
While the disclosure of the first batch of court files, published following a judge’s order in December, include the names of victims, friends and associates of Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, many on the list share no direct link to the sex offender.
For example, Blanchett and DiCaprio’s names were mentioned in a witness statement citing a false press report claiming the witness had met them. Other Hollywood stars to be mentioned in this section include Kevin Spacey, Bruce Willis and Star Wars director George Lucas.

The Epstein List: Full list of names revealed in unsealed court records so far
The disclosure of the first batch of court files include the names of victims, friends and associates of the sex offender and Ghislaine Maxwell – although many others will have no direct link to Epstein.
A second tranche of documents released on Thursday evening did not shed much new light on the case, and included many of the names previously made public. Further documents unsealed on Friday are currently being reviewed by The Independent.

Maxwell questioned on ties with hedge fund billionaire Glenn Dubin and wife Eva Dubin
In a newly unsealed deposition, Ghilaisne Maxwell denied having any knowledge of the role that Epstein’s assistant Sara Kellen played in the disgraced financier’s sex trafficking ring.
Maxwell was also questioned about her relationship with hedge fund billionaire Glenn Dubin and his wife, scientist and former Miss Sweden Eva Dubin.
Maxwell, who claimed to be friends with Ms Dubin, was asked whether she had ever sent Virginia Giuffre to the Glenns’s condo. Maxwell’s answer was not included in the filing, but Ms Giuffre previously alleged that she was trafficked by Epstein to have sex with Mr Dubin.
Before Maxwell’s deposition was unsealed on Friday, a spokesperson for the Dubins denied any wrongdoing by the couple. The spokesperson also pointed out that Epstein victim Johanna Sjoberg said in a previously unsealed deposition that nothing inappropriate happened while she gave a massage to the couple.
“The Dubins strongly deny these allegations, as we first said in 2019, when these unsubstantiated statements first surfaced as part of this same civil court proceeding,” a statement read.

Maxwell’s claimed bad memory while questioned on Prince Andrew, Epstein victims
In a deposition, Maxwell said she didn’t remember whether she was the one who introduced the royal to Johanna Sjoberg, who would later allege Prince Andrew fondled her breast.
Maxwell also claimed she didn’t remember whether she had introduced Virginia Giuffre to Prince Andrew, or whether Giuffre had stayed at her London home.
Maxwell even went on to say that she had no recollection of Giuffre during the London trip, despite a picture of the two together with Prince Andrew saying otherwise.
“So I have seen her reports and I have seen the plane reports,” Maxwell said. “I see she says she was on that but again, I really have no recollection of her.”

Ghislaine Maxwell breaks silence after Epstein files unsealed
Maxwell’s attorneys Arthur Aidala and Diana Fabi Samson released a statement on Wednesday night, after the filings began to be unsealed, in which she continued to insist her innocence and vowed to plough ahead with her appeal.
“Ghislaine Maxwell took no position on the Court’s recent decision to unseal documents in Giuffre v. Maxwell as these disclosures have no bearing on her or her pending appeal,” they said in the statement, shared with The Messenger.
“Ghislaine’s focus is on the upcoming appellate argument asking for her entire case to dismissed. She is confident that she will obtain justice in the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

Film stars named in unsealed Epstein court documents deny any involvement
The newly-released legal documents linked to the paedophile Jeffrey Epstein name several film stars, including Cate Blanchett, Leonardo DiCaprio and Cameron Diaz.
However, denials of any personal involvement with the billionaire financier, who socialised with royalty and celebrities, have been issued by all three actors.
Their names are only mentioned once in the expansive documents so far released, spanning hundreds of pages, during a segment in which a witness denies ever meeting the stars.

No investigation of Prince Andrew after release of Epstein documents
While the majority of the allegations against the former royal contained within the unsealed 1,200 pages are not new, it has been suggested that at least one accusation is fresh.
The Duke of York has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
Being identified through the court documents does not mean that the individual was involved in or aware of any wrongdoing by Epstein.

Prince Andrew ‘devastated’ by Epstein document allegations
The Daily Mail, citing a source close to Prince Andrew, reports that the Duke of York is “devastated” by the publication of his name and various allegations in this week’s unsealing of Jeffrey Epstein-related documents.
“He doesn’t have the emotional bandwidth to deal with this,” the source said. “He has locked himself away in a room and has no idea how to respond. He’s devastated.”
The documents allege the duke knew of Epstein’s sex trafficking, committed “acts of sexual abuse,” enjoyed daily massages, and took part in an “underage orgy.”
The duke denies any wrongdoing.
