UNRWA: Gazans eat one meal every two days news
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced that Palestinians in the Gaza Strip can only eat one meal every two days due to the Israeli siege.
This came in a statement published by the UN agency on Thursday, commenting on the food needs of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, where the number of displaced people as a result of the Israeli aggression reached two million people.
She confirmed that, according to data from the Norwegian Refugee Council (an independent humanitarian organization) and other organizations, 83% of the required food aid cannot be delivered to Gaza.
She indicated that she and her partners distributed high-energy biscuits to children to reduce the effects of malnutrition, stressing that the residents of the Strip eat, on average, one meal every two days.
Another warning
Kamel Ajour, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kamel Ajour Bakeries in Gaza City, warned last Sunday of the return of the specter of famine in the northern Gaza Strip after a crisis in bread production began to emerge as a result of 5 bakeries out of 6 located in the northern Gaza Strip stopping work.
As a result of the war and Israeli restrictions that violate international laws, the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip suffer from a severe scarcity of food, water and medicine supplies, which has reached the point of recording deaths from hunger.
With absolute American support, Israel has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, which has left more than 136,000 Palestinians martyred and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and deadly famine.
In disdain for the international community, Israel continues the war, ignoring the UN Security Council resolution to stop it immediately, and the orders of the International Court of Justice to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
