Egypt is keen on Lebanon’s security, stability and sovereignty

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi informed US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken that Cairo rejects any attempts at escalation in the region, and that Egypt supports Lebanon’s security, stability and sovereignty, after the pager attack.

The Egyptian presidential spokesman, Ahmed Fahmy, indicated in a statement published on the presidential Facebook page that the American minister conveyed the greetings of President Joe Biden and his appreciation for the vital role that Egypt is playing to restore stability in the region, which the Egyptian president appreciated, stressing the importance of the partnership. The Egyptian-American strategy to protect the interests of the two countries and enhance regional security.

In this regard, the meeting discussed the situation in the Palestinian territories. Views were exchanged on how to strengthen joint efforts between Egypt, the United States, and Qatar to move forward with ceasefire negotiations, exchange hostages and detainees, and facilitate the implementation of humanitarian aid.
