51 killed during a coal mine explosion in Iran

Iranian local sources said that at least 51 people were killed and 12 others were injured in a coal mine explosion caused by a gas leak in the southern Khorasan province, while 20 people are still trapped inside the mine.
Government sources said that a gas explosion in the “Madenjo” mine in the city of Tabas in South Khorasan Province led to the death of 51 workers, according to what was reported by the Iranian “Mehr” Agency.
She added: “At the time of the explosion, 69 workers were working in Block C and B of this coal mine in Tabas.”
He explained that the explosion that occurred in the mine was not a fire or severe destruction of walls, and he explained that the emission of methane gas in the tunnels caused suffocation of the forces present in the coal mine.
