Frenchman Ben Yedder was imprisoned for two years with a suspended sentence on charges of sexual assault sports
Today, Tuesday, the Criminal Court in Nice (south of France) sentenced Frenchman Wissam Ben Yedder, Monaco captain and former national team striker, to a two-year suspended prison sentence on charges of sexual assault in September.
In his review on the 15th of last month, the Public Prosecutor called for Ben Yedder (34 years old) to be imprisoned for a year and 18 months and to be placed under surveillance.
Ben Yedder must pay a fine of 5,000 euros and compensation to the attacker, in addition to an additional 5,000 euros for violating traffic laws. His driving license was also withdrawn from him over a period of 6 months.
Ben Yedder is considered the second highest scorer in the history of Monaco, but he has not played for any club since the end of his contract with the emirate team at the end of last season.
Ben Yedder assaulted a 23-year-old woman while he was drunk on September 6, before she ran to the police and complained about him. He was arrested the same night and taken to the police station, where he was investigated.
After undergoing a medical examination, it was found that the alcohol level in his blood was high. He commented on this incident in the first trial session by saying, “I don’t remember what happened. I am here because of the alcohol.”
