The Gulf Summit in Kuwait discusses the escalating threats in the region

The 45th session of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council, hosted by the State of Kuwait, begins today, Sunday, in the presence of leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and their representatives, under delicate regional and international circumstances and amid aspirations to enhance joint Gulf cooperation and consolidate paths of sustainable development, security and stability in the region.
The Gulf Summit, which is the eighth hosted by the State of Kuwait in 43 years, seeks to continue building on the achievements achieved and to shape the features of a more stable and prosperous future, in addition to intensive coordination and taking unified positions to confront the escalating threats in the region.
The summit, which will be held at Bayan Palace, is scheduled to discuss a number of priority strategic issues, including regional security issues, enhancing Gulf economic integration, and confronting regional and global challenges.
The summit is expected to discuss mechanisms for developing the common Gulf market and enhancing cooperation in the fields of technology and digital transformation, in addition to interconnection projects in infrastructure and energy, as well as urgent political files, including developments in the situation in Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, the situation in Yemen, the outstanding issues with Iraq, and relations with regional and international powers.
