The Syrian opposition announces the provision of security guarantees to Russian military bases

TASS, citing sources in the Kremlin, confirmed that the Syrian opposition provided security guarantees to Russian military bases in Syria.

The source told the agency: “Russian officials are communicating with representatives of the Syrian armed opposition, whose leaders are responsible for ensuring the security of Russian military bases and diplomatic institutions in Syria.

The Syrian armed opposition also announced earlier that it would provide security guarantees to diplomatic missions present in the Syrian capital, Damascus. This comes after the armed opposition entered Damascus, and factions of the Syrian opposition announced in a brief statement on state television, “Liberating the city of Damascus and overthrowing Bashar al-Assad.”
