Humanitarian warning of a “very difficult” situation for refugees in South Sudan
Agencies – Sudan:
Doctors Without Borders has warned that the situation on the South Sudan border is “extremely difficult,” with thousands of people fleeing neighboring Sudan following intensified fighting.
The non-governmental organization said that every day of December, more than five thousand people crossed the border from Sudan into South Sudan, where various and regular acts of violence are rife, in addition to climate disasters.
Doctors Without Borders noted that “the influx of people into the city of Renk (near the northeastern border) and its surrounding areas has caused severe consumption of already scarce resources, leaving the displaced people facing a crisis.”
