Hamas: Haniyeh was assassinated with a guided missile
Agencies – Al Jazeera:
Yesterday, Sunday, the Hamas movement denied Israeli intelligence information that the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh was carried out by planting a bomb in his room in Tehran late last July, and considered these allegations completely baseless.
In a statement, the movement considered that this story, which was presented by the Israeli media based on intelligence information, is nothing but “a bunch of lies,” stressing that the investigations carried out by the movement through the joint committee between its security services and the Iranian security services concluded that the assassination was carried out. Using a guided missile weighing 7 and a half kilograms of explosives, it directly targeted Haniyeh’s mobile phone inside his room at the official Iranian guesthouse in the capital, Tehran.
Hamas renewed its condemnation of this assassination, which constituted a violation of the sovereignty of the Iranian state, because it targeted an official headquarters.
The Israeli Channel 12 had broadcast a report about Haniyeh’s assassination, noting that military censorship allowed the information to be published, and claiming that the operation was carried out using a precise, remote-controlled bomb, placed inside Haniyeh’s room with the aim of liquidating him.
