This week, the activities of the third edition of the Saudi Tourism Forum will be launched at the Riyadh Front, amid wide anticipation from those interested in the tourism sector and cultural investment in the Kingdom and abroad.
This event comes to confirm the growing position that the Kingdom has achieved as a global tourist destination, and to highlight its efforts in developing the sector in line with Vision 2030, which made tourism an essential pillar for diversifying the national economy and building a more sustainable future.
Over the past few years, the Saudi tourism sector has witnessed qualitative leaps, embodied in huge investments and modern infrastructure, in addition to the launch of international events that attracted millions of visitors.
Previous editions of the forum played a pivotal role in enhancing this momentum, by highlighting the investment opportunities and tourism components that are unique to the Kingdom, starting from historical sites such as Al-Ula and the Al-Turaif neighborhood, all the way to the entertainment events that have become an integral part of the Saudi tourism scene.
The remarkable development was not the result of the moment, but rather the result of integrated efforts between many parties.
The Ministry of Culture, for example, has significantly contributed to highlighting Saudi national heritage and arts in a way that attracts visitors from different cultures.
The media also played a fundamental role in promoting tourism sector projects and programmes, which enhanced the positive image of the Kingdom at the global level.
In addition, cooperation between the government and private sectors has had a significant impact on improving the tourist experience, from developing facilities to attracting major international companies to invest in tourist destinations.
On the other hand, the importance of the education sector has emerged in supporting this thriving sector, by preparing qualified national cadres to work in multiple fields such as tourism guidance and event management.
Academic and vocational training programs have contributed significantly to enhancing the competitiveness of Saudi youth in the labor market, and have made the tourism sector a promising field that contributes to achieving economic and social development at the same time.
With the launch of the forum this week, attention is turning to the new opportunities it will provide to enhance international cooperation and explore innovative areas that push the Saudi tourism sector towards greater leadership.
The ambition does not stop at the borders of previous achievements, but is renewed with every step taken to develop this vital sector.
What distinguishes this edition of the forum is its focus on sustainability and innovation, which reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to keeping pace with global trends in the tourism industry.
As a Saudi citizen, I believe that the success of this ambitious vision depends on everyone’s contribution. Citizens are the true face of the nation, and they are the ones who carry the Kingdom’s message to the world, not only through its tourist sites, but also through its culture and traditions whose roots extend deep into history.
The forum is not just an event, but rather a platform that gives us all an opportunity to show the bright face of the Kingdom, and to continue building on the achievements achieved, to prove to the world that Saudi tourism is not just a destination, but rather an exceptional experience by all standards.
