Saudi Arabia congratulates Sharia on his assumption of the presidency of Syria news


Today, Thursday, the King of Saudi Arabia, Salman bin Abdulaziz and his Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, congratulated Ahmed Al -Shara, the day after his appointment as a transfer to Syria, about two months after the ousted President Bashar al -Assad.

And the Saudi Foreign Ministry, through its account on the X platform, reported that King Salman and his Crown Prince sent a “congratulatory telegram to His Excellency President Ahmed Al -Shara, President of the sisterly Syrian Arab Republic, on the occasion of his assumption of the Presidency of the Syrian Arab Republic in the transitional phase.”

King Salman wished the law “success and success in leading your brotherly country towards a prosperous future that achieves the aspirations of the Syrian people,” according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

On Wednesday, the new Syrian administration announced the appointment of Sharia as president of the country in the transitional phase, as part of a series of wide decisions that included the solution of all armed factions, in addition to the army and security services existing in the previous era, canceling the constitution, and dissolving the People’s Assembly and the Baath Party, which ruled the country on Decades.

Saudi Arabia’s congratulation to Sharia, after his appointment as a transitional head of Syria, after his leadership of a surprise military attack that led to the fall of the regime of President Bashar al -Assad on December 8, 2024.

The capital, Riyadh, was the first destination of an external visit to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Syrian administration, Asaad Al -Shaibani, early this month.
Saudi Arabia also launched an air bridge carrying humanitarian aid from medical, food and shelter supplies to “alleviate the difficult conditions” on the Syrians.

And last Friday, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan confirmed from Damascus his country’s standing alongside the new Syrian administration and its support in the issue of lifting Western sanctions.
