Guterres confirms his rejection of ethnic cleansing in Gaza

Washington – SPA:
The Secretary -General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, stressed his rejection of all forms of ethnic cleansing in Gaza, stressing the need for the Strip to remain as an integral part of the Palestinian state. He indicated in a statement that since October 7, hostile actions have taken place, followed by unprecedented levels of death and destruction in Gaza, stressing the need for a clear political framework to recover Gaza, its reconstruction and permanent stability, and that there is no Israeli military presence in Gaza, and that this framework preserves the survival of Gaza as an integral part of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state, without any detracting in its territory or a forced transfer to its residents. He stressed that Gaza, the occupied West Bank, and East Jerusalem should be dealt with as one entity, politically, economically and administratively, with the need to stop the Israeli settlement expansion and threats to annexation.
