Trump’s approval of Greenland’s right to self -determination is “important”

Denmark Foreign Minister Lars Look Rasmussen said at a press conference in Helsinki that US President Donald Trump’s approval of Greenland’s right to self -determination, and he repeats his interest in being part of his country, is very important.

Trump reiterated his interest in annexing Greenland in a speech to Congress on Tuesday, during which he painted a picture of prosperity and security for the “amazing” people of the island. Greenland is a self -rule region that follows the Kingdom of Denmark.

Look Rasmussen added that Trump said that they are respecting Greenland’s right to self -determination and I think this was the most important part of the discourse, “and Luke Rasmussen noted that Denmark and Greenland have common attention with the United States regarding the security of the Arctic region. “We are ready to work with our American friends to achieve this, but of course it will be on the basis of the fact that we are the Kingdom of Denmark,” he said.

For his part, Danish Defense Minister said that US President Trump’s plans to include Greenland “will not be fulfilled.”
