Nigeria imposes the emergency in the state of Rivers after the bombing of oil pipes news

Nigerian President Paula Tenobo announced the state of emergency in the oil -producing state of Rivers and stopped its ruler, his deputy and all the representatives representing it, and appointed a retired officer in charge of the work of the head of the state for a period of 6 months.

Tenobo said – in a speech broadcast on television on Tuesday – that he had received security reports during the past two days “that are concerned about pipelines by gunmen, without the ruler of the region taking any action to reduce them.”

He added, “With all these facts and many others, no president who has responsibility will stand idle and allow that serious situation without taking the reform measures stipulated in the constitution to deal with the situation in the region.”

The police had previously stated that they were investigating an explosion in Rivers and caused a fire in the Trans Niger pipeline, which transported crude oil from the wild oil fields to the Bonnie for export.

Rivers, located in the Delta Niger region, is a major source of crude oil, and gunmen have previously detonated pipelines, which hindered production and exports.

This state is witnessing a political crisis between opposition factions, and its deputies threatened to isolate the ruler and his deputy.
