A Syrian security campaign in Lattakia to enhance security and prosecute the wanted people news


The General Security Forces of the Syrian Ministry of Interior carried out a security campaign today, Friday, in a number of neighborhoods of the city of Latakia, on the Mediterranean coast.

Al -Jazeera correspondent in Lattakia, quoting the Public Security Department, said that the security campaign targeted wanted persons for justice and out of the law.

The Ministry of the Interior said in a statement published by the official Syrian News Agency (SANA) that the campaign aims to enhance security and stability, control violations, pursue those involved in illegal activities, and collect the weapons, in the context of continuous efforts to maintain public order and protect citizens.

On the sixth of last March, the Syrian coast region witnessed a security tension in the occurrence of coordinated attacks of the remnants of the ousted President Bashar al -Assad against patrols and security barriers, killing and wounding.

As a result, the security forces and the army mobilized and carried out combing and chasing the remnants of the remnants, interspersed with violent clashes and witnessed violations that the Syrian government pledged to investigate and hold those involved accountable.

Since the overthrow of the Bashar regime, the Military Operations Department has opened a settlement centers with the elements of the ousted regime to surrender their weapons, but some of them rejected confrontations in a number of governorates.

On December 8, 2024, Syrian factions extended their control over Damascus after other cities, ending 61 years of the Baath Party regime, and 53 years from the rule of the Assad family.

On January 29, the Syrian administration announced the appointment of Ahmed Al -Shara as President of the country in the transitional stage, along with other decisions, including the solution of armed factions and the existing security services in the previous era, the People’s Assembly (Parliament) and the Baath Party, and the abolition of the constitution.
