The fruit of the Vatican meeting
Ukrainian President Foludmir Zellinski – who had rejected a previous formula for the agreement – said it represented the first results of his meeting with the American President in the Vatican on the sidelines of the funeral of Pope Francesco, describing it as “really equal and fair.”
He added that the agreement opens the door to modernize industries in Ukraine.

No debt or guarantees
Ukraine has no debt to the United States under the agreement, a major point in prolonged negotiations between the two countries.

Kiev strongly relied on US military aid throughout the war that erupted in February 2022, and says Russia has intensified its attacks with the American diplomatic movement to reach a peaceful settlement.
