Germany agrees to hand over Turkey aircraft

Agencies – Berlin:
German media reported that the government paved the way for the delivery of 40 Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft to Türkiye after a decision of the Federal Security Council in favor of its delivery. Later, Türkiye and Britain signed a memorandum of understanding that allows Ankara to be the user of Eurofighter Typhoon fighters, in a big step towards buying aircraft.
Türkiye is holding talks to purchase these aircraft, which is made by an alliance that includes Germany, Britain, Italy and Spain, represented by Airbus and BAS Systems and Leonardo. The German Federal Security Council, authorized to approve arms exports, works in secrecy and the government does not usually comment on its decisions. The German Ministry of Defense has refrained from commenting on the report. While the Ministry of Economy has not yet responded to a request for a comment sent via e -mail. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said earlier this week that Germany and Britain have taken a positive position on selling aircraft, adding that Ankara would want to complete the purchase as soon as possible.
