The Security Council adopts a decision to resolve disputes by peaceful means

Agencies – New York:
The UN Security Council called on the 193 member states to use all possible means to settle disputes by peaceful means, at a time when the Secretary -General of the United Nations said that this “has become more urgent than ever”, noting “scenes of terror in Gaza” and conflicts in Ukraine, Sudan, Haiti and Myanmar.
The vote unanimously came to the decision of Pakistan within the council of 15 members.
In his call to strengthen efforts towards achieving world peace, Secretary -General Antonio Guterres said to the Council: “We are witnessing completely ignorance, if not an explicit violation of international law,” as well as the Charter of the United Nations.
He added that this happens at a time when geopolitical divisions expand and conflicts are increasing, especially in Gaza, where “hunger knocks on all doors.”
For its part, Israel denies that it is deliberately targeting civilians and relief staff in its war with Hamas, and blames United Nations agencies for not distributing the food that allowed it to enter.
